UPS, a global logistics leader, has once again stepped up to pledge its support to the Gary Player Invitational presented by Coca-Cola, South Africa’s premier charity golf event. The four-day event took place from 14th – 17th November at the Lost City Golf Course at Sun City , and partnered champions and regular tour golfers together with top businessmen and celebrities.
“This is the eighth year that UPS has been involved with this event. As the official logistics supplier to the Gary Player Invitational, we are pleased to support all the players who all generously come out to raise funds for underprivileged communities under the iconic name of Gary Player,” said Paul Horsfall, country manager, UPS South Africa.

Through the Gary Player Invitational, The Player Foundation raises funds for local charities in South Africa. As The Player Foundation celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2013, the Foundation has raised an astounding R500 million for underprivileged children and impoverished communities around the world. The charities earmarked to benefit from the R4 million raised at this year’s event include: Wing & Wishes and the Wildlands Conservation Trust in partnership with Qhubeka.
Renowned pro-golfers Cheyenne Woods, Tony Johnstone, Retief Goosen, as well as Gary Player himself, participated in this year’s tournament, along with international celebrities and business people including Thomas Msengana, Brian McFadden, Doug Jackson, Anthony Anderson, Carmine Giovinazzo, and Unathi Msengana.
