A stellar year of recognition continued for Poland’s Modry Las Golf Resort.
The latest in a line of awards secured by the club since it was officially opened in 2009, the golf destination reclaimed the top spot at the 2019 World Golf Awards in the UAE when it was named Poland’s Best Course at the annual ceremony.
The West Pomerania golf resort received praise at the World Golf Awards in Abu Dhabi following a series of exciting new developments. This latest accolade points towards ongoing improvements that have been supported by an internationally recognized design. The 10th anniversary year of Modry Las Golf Resort has been truly special, and now the only Gary Player Design signature course in Poland is a five-time winner at the World Golf Awards, among many other European honors.
“In Gary Player Design’s global portfolio of more than 400 courses, Modry Las continues to distinguish themselves as a course that will stand the test of time,” said Marc Player, CEO of Black Knight International. “The ownership’s commitment to excellence is bar none, and we are thrilled they received this recognition.”
Earlier this year, Modry Las Golf Resort joined a distinguished collection of the world’s leading golf resorts being name the PGA National Poland. As Poland’s foremost golf venue, Modry Las Golf Resort has become the country’s sole PGA branded property joining the likes of Ryder Cup venues PGA National England at The Belfry and PGA National Scotland at Gleneagles.
It is especially significant for the Gary Player Design course as the PGA restricts membership of its PGA National brand program to only one resort per country, and prospective members are only approached if they offer the very best golf, leisure and accommodation possible.
“I recall when we first opened Modry Las just 10 years ago,” said Marc Player. “It was a stunning piece of land, and the Gromadzki family deserves so much credit for their tireless effort to ensure the club’s success, which I am sure will continue for many, many years.”
