At the heart of each Gary Player Invitational is the act of giving back to those less fortunate and to raise funds in order to bring hope, help and healing to underprivileged children and communities worldwide. More than $62 million has been raised through the global series over 30 years, which has made such a huge difference to the lives of those less fortunate.

THE EVENT
Black Knight International and Mazda joined partnership to celebrate the Union of Golf and Giving and hosted the first ever Gary Player Invitational presented by Mazda in Japan on March 19 -22, 2016. The event supported the “Support Our Kids (SOK)” organization which works to aid the children affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Golfing icon and Grand Slam winner, Gary Player, hosted the inaugural Gary Player Invitational in Japan in 2016 with an impressive field of well-known personalities from the worlds of sport and entertainment. Celebrities from around the region will join forces with Gary Player again in 2017 to help The Player Foundation reach the goal of raising $100 million.

I am not one to make New Year’s resolutions, but I am resolute in my desire to play many more rounds in 2021 because I believe that golf keeps me young and is vital to my longevity! How many rounds do you hope to play this year?

@garyplayer with some New Year's inspiration for you 💬

Happy New Year’s Eve. 2020 has been a very challenging year and one that I'm happy to see the back of. However, I have a lot to be thankful for. My heart is with anyone grappling with the unforeseen difficulties of 2020. May 2021 bring increased peace and prosperity. All my best.

I love this photo as it reminds me of when I was steadfast in getting stronger as I knew it was the key to being competitive. It also reminds me of a time when world class gyms were not available at every tournament (hotel rooms and stairways saw many of my training sessions).
