THE PLAYER DESIGN STUDIO FEATURED IN GOLFSCAPE’S COVETED WORLD TOP 100

Player Design’s portfolio stretches globally, and three courses lead its pack in golfscape’s Top 100 Golf Courses in the World 2020.

With the help of an extensive panel of industry leaders, the golf courses featured in their official rankings offer experiences to remember for a lifetime, from beach resorts to coastal gems. golfscape’s list takes you through forests, over clifftops, and across the desert to uncover the top golf courses in the world.

Checking in at No. 19. Is The Links at Fancourt in South Africa. Sculpted into what the Black Knight has described as his greatest feat as a designer, The Links is the golfing hallmark of the Fancourt estate. Featuring a dune-style landscape, the course is the collaborative handiwork of Player Design and Fancourt’s owner Dr. Hasso Plattner.

The golf course, which was once home to an airstrip, hosted the 2003 Presidents Cup and is a stalwart in all Top 100 rankings.

On the banks of the aptly-named Crocodile River, at the gate to the Kruger National park, lays this Player Design, No. 26 Leopard Creek Country Club in South Africa. The par-5 13th hole is one of the most memorable experiences here, right on the edge of the river (safely above water level) where hippos dominate the water. It offers amazing views of both the river and park surrounding.

Don’t be surprise to find yourself having encounters with African wildlife during your round.

Designed with consideration to the surrounding natural environment, this par-72 Player Design harnesses the Gulf’s captivating beauty, No. 92 Saadiyat Beach Golf Club in Abu Dhabi boasts glistening ocean views accompanying your round, and the 18 holes have turned Saadiyat Island into a golfing paradise.

Since opening in 2010, the course has gone from strength to strength and 2020 marks yet another year in which awards and accolades have been bestowed upon the golf club, firmly securing its position as one of the jewels in Abu Dhabi’s golfing crown.

Thinking back on @b_dechambeau’s #USOpen win and the many subsequent opinions. The thing that stuck with me was Bryson practicing under the lights before his final round. The last man out there. There’s no substitute for hard work, it’s a key ingredient to becoming a champion.

A sneak peek from filming with @NickFaldo006 last weekend. Lots of golf, laughter, and storytelling that we can’t wait to share with you. Here’s a glimpse at our Knight v. Knight bunker challenge – we’ll call it a tie… for now! I cannot wait for you to see what’s still to come.

Taking on the fantastic 19th hole at @BigCedarLodge. Johnny Morris has been so creative in his thinking and what a great way to finish a round. What’s your favorite closing hole?

Nothing I love more than working on my game. You can always get better. As always, Fantastic to pick that G.O.A.T’s brain. No better way to get better. Most importantly, we are still great friends. @jacknicklaus

.@garyplayer might be, pound for pound, the finest golfer in history. And closing in on 85, he’s still tough to beat! He plays 5 days a week, and as you can see, he’s still trying to learn and always trying to get better.
