Black Knight Wine
The Wine
Established in 1998, Quoin Rock Winery is located in Stellenbosch, the heart of South Africa's wine-growing region. It is a state-of-the-art boutique winery and has been chosen by Black Knight Wine for the production of their wine.
Grapes are grown on the slopes of the Simonsberg, in Stellenbosch, and in the cool climate region of Cape Agulhas. Viticulture at Quoin Rock is based on a minimal interference philosophy which allows the natural potential of the environment to express the unique characteristics of site and vintage.
Quoin Rock focuses on producing premium quality hand-crafted wines, which are the result of attention to the finest detail in the vineyards and cellar.
The Art
Gary Player has won 9 Major Championships, including the Grand Slam, and each victory has revealed a unique combination of numbers; numbers that gave the rise to the concept for interpreting landmark photographs of his winning Championship moments. The symbolism of the combination of numbers, unique to each Championship victory, has been re-created in a series of contemporary artwork, interpreting classic black and white photography into a moving tribute to the legend of the Black Knight.
