World Golf Hall of Fame Acquire Items from Gary Player’s 50th Masters for ‘Global Journey’ Exhibit

"Gary Player: A Global Journey" exhibit will be extended through Fall 2007 at the Hall of Fame.

The World Golf Hall of Fame will soon add to its featured special exhibit, “Gary Player: A Global Journey,” newly acquired items from Player’s 50th Masters Tournament in April. With the new items in place, the special exhibit at the Hall of Fame will be extended through Fall 2007.

Upon competing in his 50th Masters Tournament, Player, who acts as Global Ambassador to the Hall of Fame, has agreed to lend items of clothing, hats and gloves worn throughout the competition, as well as golf balls and a 50th anniversary custom-made golf bag that is being designed by Callaway Golf.

“As a three-time Masters champion and one of only two golfers to play in the major 50 times, Gary’s connection to The Masters, Augusta National and the rich history it represents is a significant part of his legacy,” said Jack Peter, the Hall’s Sr. Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “On behalf of the fans of the game and the guests of the Hall of Fame, we are grateful for his willingness to share these items of historical significance. His exhibit has been extremely well-received since we opened it last year and we look forward to continuing to tell his story.”
