The Gary Player Invitational UK Continues Its Success

The Gary Player Invitational charity golf tournament held at historic Wentworth Golf Club outside of London continued its success in raising funds for underprivileged children. Monies raised from this year’s event benefitted The Player Foundation and Lord’s Taveners, the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity.
Gary Player hosted a stellar field of professional golfers, celebrities and business people for a one day pro/am golf tournament and auction. Despite an occasional rain shower the day was a huge success and everyone enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the challenge of Wentworth. The team of Trevor Moss, Alistair Campbell, Craig Harper, and cricket great Sean Irvine won a very tight competition by a mere one stroke.
“Philanthropy is very important to me and our entire organization. I can’t thank the professionals, celebrities and business people who continually support our events enough. We have a responsibility to help children in need and this year’s event will make a difference to a lot of kids,” said Gary Player.
“I would also like to thank Berenberg Bank, SAP, Rolex, Davenport Lyons, and Verizon Business for their financial support and efforts to make this and all of our GPI events a great success,” he added.
