Player To Captain Team For Champions Challenge At St. Andrews

Gary Player, Arnold Palmer, Peter Thomson, Tom Weiskopf, Bob Charles, Roberto de Vicenzo and Lee Trevino will make up the seven captains for the teams in the Champions Challenge to be held on the eve of this week’s British Open at St Andrews.
The event to mark the tournament’s 150th anniversary will feature 27 past champions with the winning team receiving £50,000 to be donated to charities of their choice. The four-hole Champions Challenge will be played over the first, second, 17th and 18th holes of the Old Course on 14 July, with the best individual score at each hole counting as the team score.
