India is without a doubt one of the most vibrant and interesting countries to visit and it is on its way to becoming a world class golf destination.  While many still consider golf to be an elitist sport in India the popularity of the game is growing along with a crop of world class talent.  Jeev Milkha Singh, Arjun Atwal, Jyoti Randhawa, Shiv Kapur have all performed well against the world’s best and the spate of new course developments and the inclusion of golf as an Olympic sport are sure to help India continue to develop top flight players.

Headed by Dr. KP Singh of DLF Limited, India’s largest real estate company is leading the way in course development projects.  Player Design’s project in Guragon, an 18-hole Gary Player Signature Designed course that includes a super luxury hotel, state of the art club house, large practice academy and sports complex is the latest project in this region located on the Southern border of New Delhi.

The rich tradition, diverse culture, fantastic cuisine and stunningly beautiful sites have drawn travelers to this vibrant country for hundreds of years.  Agra, New Delhi, Calcutta and the beaches of Goa are the most popular destinations and should be on any itinerary, but if you want to experience India in a different way consider traveling the Buddhist circuit, or taking a Yoga and meditation tour.

The Buddhist circuit will take you through the palaces immortalized by Sakyamuni, Gautama Buddha more than two thousand five hundred years ago.  It recreates the journey where he preached his message of compassion, simplicity and renunciation and taught the path to enlightenment.

Despite the urbanization and industrialization of much of the country India still has locales where the concepts of Yoga and meditation are an integral part of human life.  Visitors will learn the history of Yoga and how to incorporate it into their life.  Yoga is a gradual, systematic and scientific way to release tension of day-to-day life and regular practice helps one to overcome stress and lead a perfectly healthy life.

Whether it is playing golf, visiting the Taj Majal, or getting in touch with your inner being India is a destination that should not be missed.
