With its steep peaks and golden sand beaches, St. Lucia is a Caribbean Island gem, and home to Harlequin Properties’ newest development The Marquis Estate.  Situated on the northeast coast of the island, the former banana plantation will be converted into a world-class beach resort featuring an 18-hole Gary Player Signature golf course, as well as a Player-branded hotel & residential villas to be developed and designed with Player Real Estate.

The championship course will be routed through the lush valley, and complete with villas on the hillside overlooking various golf holes and the Atlantic Ocean.  A river that meanders through the site will also be enhanced, adding to both the aesthetic beauty and strategy of the golf course.  Follow the river down through the valley and you’ll end up on the pristine beach of The Marquis Estate.  This is said to be one of the most breath-taking beaches on the island, where pure white sand meets the turquoise Caribbean waters.

In addition to a resort hotel comprised of approximately 200 hotel rooms, Player Real Estate will brand 100 residential villas with its distinctive Africa-inspired style while keeping with the indigenous flavor of the Caribbean Islands.  The result will be a unique, peaceful and lavish escape for holiday-makers, yachtsmen and golf enthusiasts.

Other planned amenities of The Marquis Estate include an Equestrian Center, which will offer treks through the surrounding national parks, as well as a Yacht Club & Marina.  A sun deck, boutique stores and waterfront cafés are just a taste of what the The Marquis Estate Yacht Club will entail.

The Gary Player Signature golf course and Player Real Estate products are currently in the planning phase, with construction scheduled to begin in 2009.
