Green Living at The Cliffs
Apr 01, 2008 | Filed Under: Real Estate Services | Comments: 1
The Cliffs at Mountain Park, where a new 18-hole Gary Player signature course is underway, is taking green living to a new level. The 5,000 acre property calls for only 1,500 homes, including 100 African-inspired custom homes known as the Gary Player Estates, as well as 20-30 Gary Player Cottages. This leaves more than 1,000 acres open for nature trails, an organic farm and a “Green House” – an environmentally-friendly home that will serve as a model for members building at Mountain Park.
To further its green initiatives, last October The Cliffs Communities & Clemson University unveiled The Cliffs Center for Environmental Golf Research – a first-of-its-kind in the industry which will be based at Mountain Park. The main objective of the facility is to produce eco-friendly golf courses and establish maintenance practices that will set the benchmark for golf course development.
