GIM/Synergy to Develop an 18-Hole Player Design in Georgia’s Lake Oconee Area
Jan 15, 2008 | Filed Under: Golf Course Design
Located in Georgia’s lake country near the charming southern town of Madison, the new site for a Player-designed course is comprised of gently rolling forested land with frontage on Lake Oconee.
Kingston on Lake Oconee, as the development will be named, is one of several golf-centered developments in the region which has seen exceptional growth over the last ten years. With a year-round golf climate and unspoiled natural beauty, the Lake Oconee area has established itself as a high-quality secondary and primary home market, as well as a recognized golf destination.
In addition to the Player course that will anchor the development, Kingston on Lake Oconee will include a marina, recreation area and village center. A broad range of residential components have also been worked into the masterplan, allowing great flexibility for both primary and secondary homeowners.
The routing plan for Kingston on Lake Oconee is currently being finalized and ground is expected to be broken in mid 2008.
