The 2004 Christel House Open will take place on twenty participating golf courses in eleven different countries, all on the same day…
When it comes to charity golf tournaments, the 2004 Christel House Open takes it to a new, global level. The one-of-a-kind golf event will feature more worldwide participating courses than any other one-day charity golf tournament in the world and who better to act as ‘special host’ of the event than the International Ambassador of Golf himself - Gary Player.
On June 14, 2004, golfers at twenty courses; located in eleven countries on five different continents and spanning twenty time zones; will participate in the Christel House Open. Play will commence with the morning tee-off in India and conclude as the last ball is putted into the 18th hole before sunset in Hawaii.
The winning foursome from each site will qualify to compete in the new World Championship event, to be held August 30-31, 2004 at The Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho Mirage, California - a course designed by tournament host Gary Player. The Black Knight will be on site to personally host the World Championship event and play with the participants.
“I am delighted to be the special host of the Christel House Open and to give my support to this worthy charitable cause,” explained Player, who has worked for over 20 years to educate underprivileged children through the efforts of The Player Foundation. “This will be one major day of golf on a global basis for thousands of golfers to enjoy and to help needy children in the process.”
100% of proceeds will benefit the children of Christel House - an international charity focused on helping impoverished, orphaned and abandoned children to break the cycle of poverty and become self-sufficient, contributing members of society.
