Gary Player Presents a Check to Pleasant City Elementary School
Jun 15, 2006 | Filed Under: The Player Foundation
Gary Player presented a check for $50,000 to the Principal of Pleasant City Elementary School in West Palm Beach last month.
The cafeteria echoed with screams of excitement and applause when Gary Player presented a check to the Principal of Pleasant City Elementary School in West Palm Beach last month. It was an encouraging ending to the school year, as $50,000.00 will go a long way when the teachers and students of Pleasant City return after summer vacation. Most of the children that attend school in this area come from impoverished families, many of which can’t even afford backpacks, or the Pleasant City Elementary t-shirts that serve as the school’s uniform. Every child’s face lit up while Principal Andrea Peppers hugged the Black Knight and shed tears of joy on stage. As for Gary Player, he simply feels privileged and honored to be able to make a difference.
