Gary Player’s latest book Don’t Choke – A Champions Guide To Winning Under Pressure officially hit bookstores and online retailers on 1 June and true to form Mr. Player hit the road for some promotional efforts. On June 2nd Gary spent the day at the ESPN campus in Bristol, Connecticut, USA being “car washed.” This is a jovial term that the folks at ESPN came up with to describe what happens to an athlete when he or she comes to ESPN for the day – in Mr. Player’s case he conducted thirteen interviews with various radio, TV and multi-media personalities. The interviews went well and pushed the book to the #1 selling golf book on Amazon.com within hours of his first appearance with Mike and Mike in the Morning.
From there he traveled to New York City for a full day of interviews on radio and TV on 3 June. He visited the ABC radio studios for both ABC News and Sports broadcasts to all of their affiliates across the USA, FOX News for Fox and Friends and Sean Hannity and the editorial staffs of Golf.com, Sports Illustrated and Golf Magazine. Mr. Player has never been shy about speaking his mind and with his 75th birthday just around the corner he had quite a bit to say about the game, the state of the design industry, the increasing problem of childhood obesity, the World Cup coming to South Africa, golf being part of the 2016 Olympic Games and a host of other topics.
Don’t Choke is available at all major book stores, online booksellers and for all e-reader devices.
