Gary Player Launches Don’t Choke At The British Open In St. Andrews

Jun 30, 2010 | Filed Under: General News   Share

Buoyed by the success of Gary Player’s new book Don’t Choke – A Champions Guide To Winning Under Pressure in the US, Gary Player will launch the UK version entitled No Fear – The Secrets Of Better Golf And Business at St. Andrews, home of the 2010 Open Championship.  Mr. Player will visit Waterstones Book Store in downtown St. Andrews on 15 July from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm for a short Q&A session about the book, a book signing, and a tasting of the 1961 Augusta vintage of Black Knight Wine.  The 1961 Augusta is the second of eighteen vintages celebrating Gary Player’s eighteen major victories and follows the successful launch of the 1959 Muirfield vintage in 2008.

Player’s recent visit to ESPN’s campus and numerous radio and TV interviews have helped push Don’t Choke to the #1 selling golf book on Amazon.com during two separate periods in June and the US based publisher to order a second print run.  The success has also moved up the timetable for publishing of the international editions - the UK version will debut in July and the South African edition in August.  The publisher is also in discussions with German, Japanese and Indian firms and hopes to have those deals completed within the next few months.

So if you are making the trek to St. Andrews stop by Waterstones Book Store for some good fun, some good wine, and the always entertaining and informative musings of Gary Player.
