Gary Player Design and Antal-Crimea LTD Take Golf to a New Level in the Ukraine

Internationally acclaimed golf events may well be in the near future for the Ukraine, where Antal-Crimea LTD has selected Gary Player Design to create an 18-hole championship layout near Yalta city. The Ukraine is a brand new golfing destination on the world map, with the first professional golf course opening last year in Kiev.

Located on the southern coast of Crimea, experts say Yalta will see a significant increase in international tourism given the escalating development on the peninsula. The new Gary Player Signature course, Delos, will be incorporated in a master-planned development complete with a full-service clubhouse, including a library and cigar lounge, a practice facility, spa and vacation villas.

“Due to the location of the site on Gurzuf Bay, we can anticipate spectacular views of the Black Sea and surrounding mountains on each hole,” said Senior Designer Frank Henegan. “And, consistent with Gary Player’s design philosophy, the finished product will follow the natural topography, with careful consideration given to the environment and natural vegetation,” Henegan added.

Construction of the signature golf course will commence in the 4th quarter of this year and is expected to reach completion in 2009.
