Former President Nelson Mandela Honors the Gary Player Group

Nelson Mandela and Sibongile Mkhabela of the Children's Fund present a certificate to director Frits Waldeck in recognition of the major efforts of the Player Foundation.
In a moving ceremony in Johannesburg last week, former South African president Nelson Mandela recognized the efforts of the Gary Player Group in raising money for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund. The Gary Player Group is a major role player in the organization of the Nelson Mandela Invitational, a charity golf tournament hosted by Gary Player in South Africa each year. In its five year existence, the tournament has raised over R7 million for the two major - The Player Foundation and Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.
On hand to accept the award on behalf of Gary Player was Frits Waldeck, a director of the Gary Player Foundation. Recognized too was the Gary Player Group’s partner in the event Octagon Marketing, as well as presenting sponsor Coca-Cola, which will also sponsor the Gary Player Invitational in London in July this year.
