Eight years, since the first participation of Bulgaria in the International Golf Travel Market in 2002, 30 foreign golf tour operators and journalists will visit the leading golf clubs and resorts in Bulgaria in April of this year.
The interest in Bulgaria as a golf destination has steadily grown over the past two years with the opening of several world class golf courses and the commitment that Bulgarian golf tour operators have made to promoting Bulgaria as a tourist destination. The Bulgarian golf tour operators have organized this visit to present the best of the golf industry in Bulgaria to their foreign colleagues from the International Association of Golf Tour Operators and journalists.
The Black Sea coastline offers two of the top golf courses in the region. BlackSeaRama, a Gary Player Signature golf course, was voted one of the top new golf course in the world in 2009 and Mr. Player announced that Player Design’s second project, Thracian Cliffs, will surely be among the top 5 golf resorts in Europe.
Guests will visit courses in the Dobrudzha region, Albena, Golden Sands, Cape Kaliakra, Balchik, Varna, Sofia, Pravets, Ravno Pole and the Pirin Golf and Country Club.
