Blair Atholl Developer to Build Two New Schools for Underprivileged Children
Jul 29, 2005 | Filed Under: The Player Foundation | Comments: 2
Former Player family estate, Blair Atholl, now home to the Blair Atholl Primary and Nursery Schools have over 400 children attending from the local community.
The Blair Atholl farm and former Player family estate has been the home of the Blair Atholl Primary and Nursery Schools for over 20 years, and with over 400 children from the local community attending the schools, the project has been a very successful association between the Gary Player Foundation and the Gauteng Department of Education.
Due to the development at Blair Atholl, developer Robby Wray of Wraypex committed to re-building both schools on a nearby site that was suitable for all parties concerned. Fortunately, and after many months of negotiations with the Gauteng Department of Education, the Gary Player Foundation as well as local community leaders, St Ansgars was chosen as the site for the relocation and building of the new schools.
Wraypex has already begun with the construction of the Nursery School and has provided temporary classrooms on the new site to ensure schooling continues during the construction period. Construction of the new St Ansgar’s Primary School is scheduled to begin immediately following approval of the plans.
All parties understand that during this transition, there will be certain challenges and changes, however with the right approach and appreciation, the students and community can look forward to a wonderful new facility in the new year.
Since the acquisition of the property, Robby Wray has been a strong supporter of the Gary Player Foundation’s fund-raising initiatives around the world and Wraypex intends to continue its support of children’s education for years to come.

Hi, I am wondering if you could give me a contact to write to for this school as we recently visited with a tour of Storm Financial. I have two young children who are willing to donate some of their toys and clothing etc and was wondering if I could donate these items to the school and how to go about it.
