Gary kept saying he was a better player at 42 than he was at 32.  Ballesteros was “on center stage” and no one took notice of Gary with a 70, 68, and 76 start, but in the last round he went out in a four under 32 and shot a 67 for a final two-shot edge over Andy North and Lee Trevino. He made up seven shots in nine holes, Gary’s second victory in a row, and his twentieth on the American Tour.
