Gary once again showed that he was not ready for a “down” week and started the Houston Open with an eight-under-par 64. He played flawless the whole week, finishing with only two bogeys in 72 holes—64, 67, 70, and 69 for 270, the lowest score on the tour at that point in the season. His third win in a row, which incidentally has not since been matched on the American PGA Tour.
